Services to begin during the 2016-2017 Concert Season
FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANCIES (Per-Service Positions):
May 11 2nd Associate Concertmaster Principal 2nd Violin Principal Bassoon Principal Trombone May 12 2nd Flute 4th Horn Substitute Positions (Violin*, Viola*, Cello*)

Approximately 52 services will be scheduled during Symphony Orchestra Augusta’s 2016-2017 Season. The per-service rates for 2.5 hours will be: Substitute Positions, 2nd Flute, and 4th Horn: $71.50. Principal Bassoon: $90. Principal Trombone: $90. Principal 2nd Violin: $100. 2nd Associate Concertmaster: $120. Mileage: $.27 per mile. Overnight accommodations – double occupancy rooms at the Holiday Inn Express (downtown Augusta) paid for by the Symphony, or $30 overnight.
A limited number of qualified applicants will be invited to these auditions. If you are interested in auditioning, please send a cover letter (indicating your desire to audition), one-page resume, and completed SOA Audition Application Form so that these materials are received in the SOA office no later than Monday, April 11. Please send all the above materials in one envelope. Once your materials are received and you have been accepted, you will be extended (via email) an invitation to audition. All applicants are responsible for obtaining their own copies of required music excerpts.
Once invited to audition, a $50 refundable deposit is required to secure an audition time. Your deposit check, marked with “Audition May 2016”, must be received in the SOA office no later than Monday, April 25 (check made payable to “Symphony Orchestra Augusta”). The check will be returned on the day of audition or if notice of cancellation is received by Personnel Manager on or before Friday, May 6. Otherwise, your deposit will be forfeited to SOA.
