SOA ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Release Date: July 30, 2012
Augusta, GA. . . . Brian J. Marks, President of Symphony Orchestra Augusta, announced today that the Executive Committee of the SOA Board of Directors has appointed Mieko Di Sano as Executive Director, effective August 15, 2012.  Her appointment comes following the unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee chaired by Board member, Jane Schwartz.  full release

 

EVENING OF FESTIVITIES
Release Date: September 10, 2012
Augusta, GA… Symphony Orchestra Augusta kicks off its 58th season with an “Evening of Festivities” at First Baptist of Augusta, Saturday, September 29 at 7:30 P.M. This performance features guest artist Jason Vieaux, guitar. The repertoire for the evening will be Moncayo’s Huapango, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol, Lecuona/Grofé’s “Malagueña” from Andalucía Suite, Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un gentilhombre and Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio italien.

ART EVENT AT THE MILLER
Release Date: September 10, 2012
Augusta, GA – Symphony Orchestra Augusta and Alternative Artworks (AA) to present, Debut at the Miller on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 6 p.m. at the Miller Theater.  Debut at the Miller is free event and open to the public. The Miller Theater is located at 708 Broad Street, in historical downtown Augusta, Georgia. Alternative Artworks will present the art work of several local artists who wish to exhibit in an extempore forum unique to Augusta, Georgia. full release

 

PUBLIC MEET & GREET WITH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Augusta, GA… Symphony Orchestra Augusta (SOA) will host a meet and greet on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. The event will take place at the Morris Museum Auditorium, First Floor, for the press and public to meet Dr. Mieko Di Sano, new executive director for SOA.
